Why I don’t care for Martin Luther King Day

This was an awesome read but you missed the concept of MLK if you only associate it with blacks. Sadly enough so do the African American people you grew up with missed the point as well. MLK represented equality and that has no race or color. I consider myself black but my family is filled with a lot of different ethnicities. I am thankful that my WHITE great grandfather married my BLACK great grandmother, in an era when it wasn’t accepted. This decision cost him his life. However, my Latin American husband (now ex-husband) and my Asian cousin are all part of my family. I am grateful that I was not raised in ignorance. There are good and bad in Every race and culture, love the good & pray for the bad.
